Hot summer - Cool Hyderabad
Just like any other day, life started at 8 in the morning. Having read Economic Times to showcase some intelligence during MBA has increased the aversion for no-gossip-only-business papers. I grabbed the regional daily and riffled through it to quickly come to film section. Boring reading was followed by an eventful swimming.
I came back home hitting upon some friends by the noon to eagerly take a mouthful of what mom cooks. After the tummy protruded out and it no longer managed another droplet of water or a grain of rice, I decided to enjoy my siesta. It was when I reclined that I remembered an old friend’s last working day in Hyderabad. It really is a token of respect to attend his farewell.

The stretch across Jubilee Hills to Madhapur is really a nice drive ( but only during the afternoons or the offbeat hours).
One thing I really like in Hyderabad is the sheer arrogance they show in abiding the traffic rules. Ok! I am not so much into rules as what you need at the end of the day is mutual understanding and that is how it works in Hyderabad.
A junction moderated by a traffic police always lead to long queues and improper scheduling while the same junction in the absence of a traffic guy is no bottle neck.
The bigger roads have 2-3 lanes clearly demarcating them for 2,3,4… wheelers.
However, freedom to happily to cross over lanes is the best part as it takes you to your destination very quickly. Many a 2 wheelers are seen mostly on the express lanes. Cybertowers provides a bird’s eye view to the car-RTC bus maneuvers by the middle lanes.  Majority of times is the slow lane and footpath used by those to come in the wrong (opposite) direction to create the element of surprise for those waiting on the same. They pave ways for shorter routes and now it is hidden rule to come in the opposite direction along the slow lanes.
On any day the lanes are used liberally by us. Clearly it is so much fun here..
These roads have nice dividers all along with reasonably tall buildings over look the traffic rush alongside.  Traffic signals are only a hindrance as they waste the precious 20 -30 seconds of our valuable time and hence, they are never really practised.
Well, to add more Orange light is used to increase your speed to quickly cross over the signal while you start off 5- 7 signals before the green pops up. Only the disadvantaged stop at the red signal.
I steered on the same roads to catch up with my friend. The entire city has changed so much post 2000. Roads of Madhapur are now the one-stop destination for everything ranging from sanitary and hardware shops to IT hubs. Most of the traffic during the working hours ( 11 A.M. – 4 P.M.) is due to the call cabs and the shuttle taxis. I was in no rush to meet my friend. I moved rather slowly compared to my fellow traffic-mates. I almost reached the destination and it only required 2 more minutes when I saw a cute puppy ( stray dog) that tried crossing the road to catch up some sleep under the tree on the other side. We, the so-called rational animals, have never followed any rules and how would an immature, stray dog, that barely managed to understand the world we are in, would know where to cross the road?
This con cab in front of me could have easily avoided or waited for the dog to clear its timid crossing across the road. Oh no… waiting for a second would lead to a catastrophe. So, the cab continued at the same pace. Inefficient reflexes for this 5-7 month old could not help in avoiding the speeding car
and the dog rolled under the tyres of the mammoth.
The driver of the cab did not even have that sympathy to stop over and quickly see for a proper course of action. Neither did the 20-30 other guys sealed under helmets or Air conditioned cars had the compassion for the same. There were just two people on that  road which had NIFT and big corporate on either side that took the dog to the footpath. Mind was totally totally blank after that tragic accident. There was no blood anywhere while one side of the dog was totally peeled off. Its tongue stuck out and made hiccups. I quickly got water from my vehicle while making calls to Bluecross. Puppy was on my lap in my arms and I was helpless for its condition as I couldn’t alone take it anywhere neither was any one interested to look at its plight. After 20 seconds, the eyelids were  ajar and the hiccups stopped.
It took me 5 more seconds to realize that it was its heartbeat that STOPPED.

Ahh!!! What a painful death for the little one which was under the false impression that people would wait or help it get some sleep.
It is now asleep forever.
I rose from that site and could
  • hear the same horns,
  • see vehicles moving past
  • and observe people around just uninterested with the fiasco.

The drive for the next two minutes seemed really long!
Lack of discipline is tolerable but lack of compassion is not!

PS: The corpse lied there even after one day of the accident or death. Taking it to the graveyard is not I could have helped, but, …

What you like is imaginary!

Dont know why am I extremely upset tonight.
They say that life is longer if you stay happier.
What is this happiness?
How long does it stay?

These are certain questions which pop up in my mind quite often.
Friends say that I should seek happiness in whatever I see, do , believe.
Its an irony for me.
Sadness creeps in somehow in whatever I do!
Or efforts that I put for hours, days and sometimes months is ruined by a momentary lapse!
and this is so impacting that its etched in memory forever.

Is my perception wrong?
Or the entire world does things otherwise?

Hmm..
Hope I write another blog that can successfully counter these arguments!

Jog!!!!

A pleasant morning..

I finally woke up at 6 am after continuous buzzing for 20 mins. Totally determined, I went for a jog...
Whiff of fresh air is all it takes to
resuscitate one.
Twittering of birds is really a timbre to listen to in the morning.
Senile walking to glory only motivates u to jog an extra mile..
Kids playing around aimlessly is undeniably joyful...
Speeding past them with no thoughts in mind but to just enjoy whatever is seen, heard, felt WAKES u from within..
This activity has started to keep myself fit. I took very little time to understand that it helps you more other than physically.
I am totally disturbed today.
No I am very frustrated..
and frustrated with the fact that people tend to corner a person when he shows an amount that is slightly higher than the average patience levels.
I keep saying to myself " My patience is not my lenience"
waah.. very filmy..
hahaha.. this is a platform for me to vent my feelings.
Yes it is!!
Trivial issues are being put across as the most disturbing things in life.
It disturbs me more when I am not even connected to it.
Am I making sense in this post?
I dont know..
But I feel good typing shit in this..

Life teaches you lessons in a hard way.
I started learning only at 23.
Hmm..
Its hard for me.
I am undergoing a crash course to face what I missed out in a brief time.
And the route is bumpy..
And when it becomes tough to retain balance, something within
shouts to stop being polite..
But, failing miserably at each step only shows my lack of resilience, wit, endurance etc.

It should change..

Friday, October 23, 2009

Well..
Its another day in my life which started in a very mundane way.
Everything in life is but boring.
Alarms buzzes at 5.30, 6, 6.15, 6.30 ............... 9 am.
Thanks to the sweltering heat and open architecture in Kolkata. I woke up finally after a comforting 10 hours sleep. Well, getting ready on a day-off is not so brisk.
Interest would be more in observing what happens around you.
Engaged in random discussions about Haryana politics ( name itself sounds so inspiring.. I can only imagine the politicians saying Vatt mor you vantte? (what more you want?) types.. well i am poor at appreciating lots of things.. this being one in the countless), listened to my age-old playlist which brings me the same Rehman, Nickelback and co but with an unlimited feel and joy. I tried playing with my Top, crazy ball and other little kiddo stuff I have. Gtalks, yahoo messengers, orkuts, twitters, facebooks.. ugghh... they induced in me heights of boredom.
And...
I woke up finally to do something constructive.

Well... When was the last time I followed/implemented my plan..
never..
series of incoherent situations in the next 3-4 hours were fun.
Well..
I have not done anything constructive from a father's/ MBA's/ aspiring MBA's point of view ( lets limit here.. ;) )

But I am uncontrollably happy..

I resume blogging with this post... :P

Merde Actually!!!

Well, Scandinavian trip is more than exciting. But the long drive from Stockholm to Oslo is more than exhaustive. Well, respite from regular course of action is never easy. Apart from admiring the scenic beauty of the Fjords, I engaged in reading "Merde Actually" to avoid dozing on Shwetabh's shoulders, munching junk to glory.

MUSINGS
DRAFT -1

It is a lovely alarm tone which transcends all the boundaries of this world. Hurriedly Rahul grabbed my cell phone to turn off the alarm. He noticed his guru in the wallpaper of the cell as it has become a sentiment now a days. On the wall opposite bed is the wallpaper of the model of Blenders Pride’s recent ad. Beside his bed is his roommate’s seater who was still asleep snoring to glory with crushed bed sheet only covering his gigantic body’s legs. Rubbing his eyes he ambled down the Almirah to collect toiletry to finish his ablution. It is 5.05 in the morning and it is already bright skies as it was winter in Kolkata. He ties the lace of the shoes and curses the tiring jog that he was out for.

He enjoys morning walk and every day he thinks about how the previous day was wasted and in the process digresses.  And his biological clock triggered this today as well and by the time he came to senses he had already covered a kilometre. A weird thought came today as well. He wondered why would he think about his past failures, future ambitions and curse himself for what he had not achieved in life. Instead for a while he started thinking about the fond memories and went back to the year 1992 when ......

Tirumala Trip Part - 1

It was not such a sultry day in tirumala when I started my descent with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. No sooner did I start my journey than I remembered my father's advice asking me to walk bare foot.I clasped the sandals in the left hand and started the sauntering through the Promenade.
I carried my music player to engage myself listening to the strumming of John
Frusciante mixed alongside with Ilayaraja and Rehman melodies. Most of the journey taught me some great lessons.First comes the innocent glances of the pilgrims looking at my flop- music player as one of the latest developments taken in the history of Electronics. I went into my own world thinking how lucky I am to be in the heart of a metropolitan which provides me the access to everything. But soon the very own place made me remember the pollution, traffic jam, sporadic curfews etc. and felt how unfortunate I am not to be amidst the natural, serene and peaceful
places ala the seven-Hills. Suddenly, I felt a hard blow!!!!! It was as if a raging bull has comeand hit my nether at 500 miles per hour. My reflexes made me cower and clinge. But it took only a moment to find out that Himesh Reshammiya song was being played in my track list.I bowed down to appreciate my friend's taste for music. Coming back to the journey I looked back and found out that I was near the Deer. I bought some vegetables sold by a vendor, who sells vegetables for Deer and begs for his day simultaneously, and fed only those which are weak or young.
I continued till I reached the statue of Hanuman. I became restless realising that half of the journey is still left out but I had to sojourn. As common is man's tendency to digress when idle I, being no exception, started cherishing some of the good-old memories.

GOD--RELIGION--??

Who is god?
Why do we worship him?
These are the questions that arise in my mind when I think of god.
Many a times I see people depending on the so called 'god' for almost all the things.
For example, students generally offer prayers after they complete their exams in order to get good scores in their exams. But will these prayers really change what they have written in their answer scripts???
The answer is "no".
It is only to satiate their hunger to get good marks.Man has created a virtual entity called GOD
whom he can talk to, request and pray to get his things done. The concept of god has to come to existance only from the latent fear he has within. All that which can save him from anything is personified to an entity GOD.
When god itself is virtual why does massacres, crusades, riots take place under his name.
Why does the discrimination between various religions come into picture???
We always tend to find the differences between religions. But did we ever try to find some of the similarities between various religions??? Did we ever try to find out if there are any clues in our holy books viz. Bhagawadgita,Quran,Bible etc. which can link all the religions??
Let us take the religions of Christianity and Hinduism into context
According to the gospel of Mathew in Bible it is said that King Herod, who was the evil ruler during the birth of Jesus, learns from the "Wise men from the east" that the ruler for the jews was born which was indicated by the rise of a star in the skies.
He then decides to kill all the children who were born during that period.
The same kind of events also happened in the life of lord Krishna during his infancy.
King Kamsa learns from saint Narada that his nephew will put an end to his rule.
He then decides to kill all the children of the age of Krishna.
Also the idol which muslims worship is in the form of linga which is the idol of Lord Shiva.
Quran itself has the oracle which says that jesus is one of the prophets.
There are many similarities as such in all the religions and all the religions are medium for PEACE, TRANQUILITY and courage to suppress one's fears.
Thus no religion is greater, no god is superior.
It is all in the way people relate their innate feelings with the ONE.
But in the present day scenario violance is aggravated in the name of religion.
People are fighting for the superiority of the religion.
The solution for this is nothing but RESPECT. People can live in harmony by only respecting others feelings and emotions.
When will this happen??
Let god speak.[After all I believe in GOD]

Where does religion come from??
Is it having any root cause??
It is only in the mind of man to interpret what it is.
